Today, unexpectedly, I found the first batch of fresh peas in the supermarket! Calling into Shoprite for an 'intermediate shop' until the full order arrives on Monday ready for the Penney Invasion, I was very pleased to spot the peas sitting there.
I don't know whether they [Shoprite] have been informed of my move to the Island or they remember my constant enquiries last year to see when/if any more were coming in but they were there this afternoon and it would have been rude to ignore them... So I didn't!
Of course, last year's crop was ruined by the rain so hopefully that wont happen again this year but at £1.49 a pound, it's not a cheap diet!
