This section is about the various places and events I have been lucky enough visit or be part of.
Some of them are only brief excursions while others are for longer periods the longest being Tokyo, Canada and Australia.
However, most of them are in or around the British Isles where I still believe there is a huge amount to see and do!
The picture above is me on Spiggie Beach in the Shetland snow in February 2009. The dog was called 'Peps' and belonged to the hotel owner, Keith Massey.
Some of the articles are 'stubs' to remind me I need to find more information about the holiday and sometimes even the date isn't clear!
In April 2023, I finally managed to visit another major group of islands making up Great Britain - Orkney.
In September 1972, a group of twelve 16 & 17yr old 'boys' met for the first time on their initial day working for the General Post Office as Trainee Technician Apprentice engineers (TTA's).
In 2022, it was 50 years since they had met so Robert and Francis ('scolly') decided to try to arrange a reunion of as many of those that could be traced.
With the new freedom from my voluntary work in the Isle of Man (don't ask!), in November 2019 I decided I would like to go to visit my Canadian cousins.
At the same time, I thought it would be good to visit the capital of Alaska, Juneau, and travel on the Rocky Mountaineer railway so I booked the holiday through my friend, Alison, who at the time worked at Hays Travel in Swanage and the date was set for the 4th May, 2020...
Of course, Covid-19 put a stop to that for two years!
March 2012 saw Mark Byrne reaching the ripe od age of 50 and decided he wanted to have hisparty somewhere away from home (I still blame Amanda for this trait!)
He decided on a place called Kylesku in the far northwest of Scotland.
Two trips to Swanage in November of 2011:
Wessex Belle meal and Remembrance weekend
The 2011 reunion of ILTMS/Primex took place at the usual venue, the Masque Haunt in Old street, London on the 15th November.
