This section is about the various places and events I have been lucky enough visit or be part of.
Some of them are only brief excursions while others are for longer periods the longest being Tokyo, Canada and Australia.
However, most of them are in or around the British Isles where I still believe there is a huge amount to see and do!
The picture above is me on Spiggie Beach in the Shetland snow in February 2009. The dog was called 'Peps' and belonged to the hotel owner, Keith Massey.
Some of the articles are 'stubs' to remind me I need to find more information about the holiday and sometimes even the date isn't clear!
Yesterday saw the regular reunion of people that worked in BT's ILTMS service.
In July 2009, on our way back from Westport, we called in to Ennis to see Mark, Mary & their children.
Mark still wants a bike!
Continuing my fascination for remote and isolated places, especially Islands, as well as my interest in strange and exotic ceremonies (no, not like that!) I had always wanted to visit the Shetland Islands (or just 'Shetland' but not, according to the locals 'the Shetlands'!) so in January 2009 I made my initial journey.
Rod's birthday in Berlin
Rod, not wishing to be left out of birthday celebrations like Mark Byrne's in May, Caroline's in August and Amanda's scheduled for March 2003 in Las Vegas, he decided one evening that he would like to go to Berlin...
So, 6 days later, here we are, just the three of us.
In 1984, I was asked to go to Japan to attend a training course on a new computer system BTI (British Telecom International) were going to be running in London on behalf of Toshiba.
