Spiggie beach with dog

Well, what I expected to be a routine visit to UCH (University College Hospital) to check a small brown mark on my shoulder turned into instant surgery!

The Dermatologists inspected the small mark & commented ' Hmmm. It looks like it's starting to misbehave' and said it should be removed within the next few weeks - An excisional biopsy.

I explained I was leaving London next week so she left the room to retunr a a minute or so later sayaing her colleague couldn't fit it in today but then she retrieved her phone from her handbag (a good deal quicker than some girls I know - those that have to dig in a Mary-Poppins type sack!) and spoke to another colleague.

At first it sounded like it wan't going to be possible, even after considering Friday afternoon which would have mucked up my plans to go to BobH's party.
Anyway, then her colleague suggested 'this afternoon - 14:00?' I agreed!

Went home for a while then received a call from the Doctor who was going to perform the surgery and asked if I could get there earlier at 13:30. Yes!

Arriving in time I had the procedure explained, signed the consent form, lie on the table (or bench - whatever it is called) & spent the next 30 minutes having a lump of my left shoulder cut away!

Strange feeling as the anestheic numbed the area but I could feel the skin being tugged as the (5) stitches were inserted.

Advice on leaving: No heavy Lifting. A bit difficult as I'm moving home!
