I know that Chris Moyles tends to polarise people but today's show was just excellent radio.
He had been going on about having blurred vision & headaches etc. and the whole team, joined by the public via email & SMS, were discussing the possible causes.
Rachel (the producer) found some Karakoe disks and, live on air, Moyles & Comedy Dave, helped by Don (news reader) and Carrie (sports reader), made up a couple of songs about 'Migrane'.
On the spot.
No rehersal or pre-writing.
...Pure genius.
It makes me realise just how much radio has changed (some good, some bad) but years ago, DJ's like Tony Blackburn really wanted to be a singers (who remembers 'Chop Chop'?!) but didn't make it so became Disk-jockeys but were never allowed (or able) to do things like this..
Well, all except the master of them all - Kenny Everett!
It was so good I had to go back to radio 1's 'listen again' and record it for posterity.
