Spiggie beach with dog

Last year, Alan & Margaret Liptrot were good enough.. to allow me to leave my bike at their house during the summer so I could travel as a foot passenger to Liverpool, pick up the bike & set off around the UK.
At the end of the summer, I brought the bike home with the idea that I would get it serviced properly over the winter in readiness for summer 2009 (ha! if we get one).
Well, as I'm sure you'd expect, nothing happened until I started to plan to go away again in February when I then had to book it in for a service.

All went well until the afternoon before I was leaving on the ferry when the left-rear indicator stopped working. Expecting a blown bulb, I checked it (yes, I took out a screwdriver!) only to find the whole bulb socket had disintegrated!
Of course, nowhere on the Island had one but they could all order one - not much use to me for tomorrow!
Searching the internet for Kawasaki dealers in the Northwest I contacted a few but they too didn't have one in stock but could order one - not much use as I was only passing through.
So, find a supplier near Mum & Dad's place where I can order it & collect it - great. GT Superbikes in Coed Cae lane, Llantrisant came up with the goods and I collected it from them.

The next part was fitting it - Hmmm. Do I pay out a lot for a workshop or should I have a go myself. After looking at what might be needed, I decided to have a go and, what do you know, I completed it with the use of a socket set from Alan's garage, today.
How proud am I!
I don't think I have ever disassembled so much of my bike on my own before!
