Spiggie beach with dog

Yesterday saw my return to the Isle of Man after my latest jaunt 'across' as we 'Islanders' like to call it :-) Starting out in torrential rain in Chelmsford (along with their USELESS road-signs), the weather quickly cleared up and the journey to Liverpool was good, especially once I left the M6 to use the 'A' and 'B' roads!

Arriving at the pier-head was strange though as, for the first time in many years, I was on a bike.
As I approached the check-in booth, I was greeted by a friendly 'Alright, mate?' in a pleasant Scouse accent. Strangely (sadly), after I showed my exec pass, it changed to 'Sir' and I was moved to the front of a new queue! Well worth the extra money!

I have to admit that the experience wasn't quite as bad as I seem to recall or keep being told although I did manage to change out of my leathers for the journey so that made it a bit more comfortable. Not as easy to get back into them though!
