Last night, Jason & I were talking about the renovated Vulcan bomber - XH558 - which had been featured in the August edition of Pilot magazine along with a book Andy (Phillpotts) was reading called 'Vulcan 607'. When we got home, we watched the TV programme detailing the story of the renovation which was very interesting.
Now that might have been enough but, to put the icing on the cake, the day after, while sitting in Jason's garden, Vulcan XH558 flies directly overhead. And I mean - directly - overhead, at about 2500ft!
Admitedly, this was after we had just gone indoors (because the 'southern softie' was cold) and Jason had received calls from his Dad and other friends asking if we had seen it fly over - of course we hadn't as we had gone inside but we went outside in the vain hope it would pass again and it did! Lucky for us!
