Sadly, there has been an announcement that means mobile phones may be allowed to be used on aircraft fitted with suitable base units. In my opinion, this is a shame as aircraft, along with the London Underground system (& probably other underground systems) are among the last few remaining places where we are spared the obnoxious, self-important, sad muppets that insist on letting the rest of us know their business or that 'they are on the train now' or that 'they will be home shortly'.
