I know the state of budget airlines and the cost of travelling has increased... but is it really fair that so many charges are hidden?
Take FlyBe for example. They offer cheap fares then add lots of extra charges. I realise some of them are the fault of the Government, like taxes but an example of a friend's travel plans takes the biscuit...
Extra £7.99 per item of hold baggage;
Extra £7.00 for using a credit card to pay;
Extra £6.00 for a SEAT !!! What?
Now excuse me but isn't a seat compulsory; or have they started offering 'standing-room' on flights?
Oh, there was the additional 'optional' charge of £15.00 for a seat with more leg room. Now isn't that usually the emergency exit.. where they actually expect you to work - for free - for the airline in the case of an emergency and assist in removing the windows etc.
Where will it all end?
