Spiggie beach with dog

Sorry to go on about a subject I have so little interest in.. (but have it rammed down my throat on radio, TV & online), but am I the only one that finds the appointment of a manager for the ENGLAND football team that can't even speak English a bit daft?

He says he has 'always wanted to have this job but never wanted to manage his own home team' yet hasn't taken the time to learn the language that might be needed. He also says he will be fine by the time of the first meeting between him and the team in early January.

Well, if he can learn the language that quickly, good luck to him.

This isn't another example of an Englishman saying 'they should learn our language' but come on - it's a pretty high-profile job seen around the world and does concern the national team!

Of course, this could just be the natural extension to one of my earlier entries regarding the number of foreign players in 'English' football...
